Do you have teeth that are misshapen, damaged, discolored, or decayed? While this problem causes an obvious aesthetic disadvantage, it can actually lead to more oral health issues as well. Unlike other medical conditions that get better with time, dental problems will only get worse if they are left untreated. That’s why we offer dental crowns in West Bloomfield to give our patients restored beauty and function to their smiles. Keep reading to learn more about dental crowns and how you can benefit from them.

Why Choose Lakeview Family Dental for Dental Crowns?

What are Dental Crowns?

Two dental crowns

Dental crowns are custom-made dental restorations that are designed to literally crown or cap the entire visible portion of your tooth. They can be used to restore the strength, feel, and appearance of your teeth, and they can also be retained by dental implants. Our expert team will carefully examine your mouth to develop a dental crown that seamlessly blends in to the rest of your natural smile. Unlike most practices, we have an in-house ceramist who creates our dental crowns with quality and convenience.

The Benefits of Dental Crowns

There are many reasons why we offer dental crowns at our practice, but here are some of the most important benefits:

The Process of Receiving Dental Crowns

It will typically take 2 separate visits to receive your crown. During the first, we will examine your smile and remove a slight portion of your natural dental structure to accommodate your dental crown. This process is easy and comfortable. After, we will take images and impressions of your smile, which will be used by our ceramist to create a custom-made prosthetic. In the meantime, you’ll be given a temporary crown to maintain appearance.

Once your crown is made, you’ll come into our office for the second time. We will ensure that you’re satisfied with the look and feel of your dental crown before permanently bonding it to your tooth. After, you’ll leave our office with a seamlessly complete smile.
